Move your world to KrillCloud
You can bring a world from single-player or another host. It takes about ten minutes plus upload time. For the short version, see upload a world. This guide adds the single-player and Nether and End details.
Back up first. Keep a safe copy of the original world somewhere else. If your KrillCloud server already has a world you care about, make a backup first. Uploading over a world replaces it.
Know your version
A world can be opened by a newer Minecraft version, never an older one. Once opened in a newer version there is no going back. Find out which version the world was last played on.
Step 1: get your world folder
From single-player: press Windows key + R, type %appdata%\.minecraft\saves and press Enter. Open the folder with your world's name. It should contain level.dat.
From another host: stop the server there. Open its file manager or connect over SFTP, and download the world folder. Also download world_nether and world_the_end if they exist.
Step 2: zip it
Zip the world folder itself, so the zip holds one folder with level.dat inside it.
Step 3: stop your server
On the Console page press Stop and wait until it is offline.
Step 4: upload
- Smaller worlds: open the Files page, press Upload, then use the menu beside the zip and choose Unarchive.
- Big worlds (several hundred MB or more): use SFTP with FileZilla or WinSCP. The address, port and username are on the Settings page, and the password is your panel password.
Step 5: Nether and End
A single-player world keeps the Nether and End inside the world folder, as DIM-1 and DIM1. Paper keeps them as separate folders:
worldfor the Overworldworld_netherfor the Netherworld_the_endfor the End
For a single-player world, create world_nether and world_the_end on the server. Move DIM-1 into world_nether and DIM1 into world_the_end.
A world from another Paper or Spigot host already has the three folders. Upload all three.
Step 6: name it correctly
The server loads the world named by level-name in server.properties. The default is world. Either:
- Rename your folder to
world(delete or rename the oldworldfirst), or - Open
server.propertieson the Files page and setlevel-nameto match your folder exactly. Capitals and spaces matter. Rename the Nether and End folders to match, for exampleMyWorld_netherandMyWorld_the_end.
Step 7: match the version
Open the Jar Picker page and choose a Minecraft version the same as or newer than the one your world was last played on. Back up first, and see change the Minecraft version.
Step 8: start and check
- Press Start and watch the console for errors.
- Join and check your builds, items and spawn point.
- Visit the Nether and End.
If you land in a brand new world, level-name does not match your folder. Stop the server and fix it. If the console says the world is from a newer version, pick a newer version in the Jar Picker.
Still stuck? Open a ticket from the panel and tell us the version and what the console says. See support tickets.
